Audemars Piguet Launches 42mm Floating Tourbillon Watch, a Limited Edition Royal Oak Concept Designed Exclusively for the Middle Eastern Market (Ref: 26638F0.00.D002CA.01)

Audemars Piguet (AP) hosted the “Creating the Exceptional” seminar in the UAE in June 2022, inviting local collectors to participate and offer design suggestions. Following extensive development, AP introduced the Royal Oak Concept Floating Tourbillon watch (Ref: 26638F0.00.D002CA.01), specifically designed for the Middle Eastern market.

CFT Forged Carbon Case and Design Features

This watch features a 42mm diameter, 15mm thick CFT forged carbon case, showcasing a unique texture. CFT (Chroma Forged Technology) combines colored carbon fiber with resin in layers and processes them under high pressure, ensuring that each case has a one-of-a-kind visual effect. The watch is equipped with a black ceramic bezel, a screw-down crown, and a protective device, ensuring a lightweight and durable design. The black ceramic caseback is paired with a rose gold inner ring, engraved with “Royal Oak Concept,” and displays the movement through a sapphire crystal window. The watch has a water resistance of up to 50 meters.

Futuristic Dial Design

The dial design exudes a futuristic style, with a black inner bezel and rose gold bridges that enhance the visibility of the balance wheel, luminescent hands, and hour markers, improving readability and depth. Mesh-like decorations at the 4, 8, and 12 o’clock positions further reveal the movement’s structure.

Calibre 2978 Movement and Precision Craftsmanship

The watch is powered by the Calibre 2978 manual-winding movement, which consists of 241 parts, with a diameter of 31mm, a thickness of 3.9mm, and a frequency of 3Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour). The movement offers a power reserve of 72 hours. The floating tourbillon design ensures exceptional accuracy and provides a stunning visual effect. The caseback continues the dial’s design, featuring grid-like lines and layered polishing craftsmanship, enhancing its visual appeal.

The Royal Oak Concept Floating Tourbillon watch is specifically designed for the Middle Eastern market and comes with black rubber and black alligator leather straps.
