Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 DiW All Carbon Motley 1:1 Best Edition Forged Carbon Dial on Carbon Bracelet 324CS
Designa Individual Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 “All-Carbon” Review
Build Quality and Materials
The case, bezel, and integrated bracelet of the All-Carbon Nautilus 5711 are built almost entirely from forged carbon fiber, resulting in a distinctive matte-black weave pattern. Each bracelet link is hand-finished and combined with black DLC-coated stainless steel for added strength. The watch is extremely lightweight — about 80 grams versus roughly 115 grams for the original steel model — yet remains very robust. Overall craftsmanship is superb: every carbon element is finished to luxury standards, and the build quality matches or exceeds that of a genuine Patek Philippe.
Movement and Technical Specifications
The DiW All-Carbon Nautilus retains Patek Philippe’s Calibre 324 S C automatic movement, so mechanically it is identical to a standard Nautilus 5711. This well-regarded movement beats at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers about 42 hours of power reserve. It is chronometer-certified and drives the usual display of hours, minutes, sweeping seconds, and date. DiW makes no changes to the movement or case mechanics, meaning performance, accuracy, and the original 50 m water resistance are unchanged.
Design and Aesthetics
Visually, the All-Carbon Nautilus is a stealthy, modern reinterpretation of the classic sports watch. The dial is deep black with a fine matte finish and retains the Nautilus’s simple stick hour markers and hands. With the bezel, case, and bracelet all in carbon fiber and black DLC metal, the watch takes on a fully monochromatic appearance. Up close, the random carbon-fiber weave adds subtle texture and depth to the otherwise uniform black surface. From a distance, the watch appears almost featureless and stealthy, giving it a very technical, understated character.
Pricing and Value
This customization commands a premium price. DiW’s official price for a fully finished All-Carbon 5711 (including the donor Nautilus) is around €179,990. If a customer provides their own Nautilus 5711, the conversion is quoted at roughly €79,990. In either case, this is a purchase for highly dedicated collectors. Its value lies in extreme rarity and bespoke craftsmanship rather than any new technical features. The steep price reflects the cost of owning one of the most unique, modern versions of the Nautilus.
Availability and Exclusivity
The All-Carbon Nautilus is only available through special order to a very select group of clients. DiW does not advertise this model publicly or sell it through standard retail channels. Each watch is made to order after an invitation or direct request, so customers typically must already be part of DiW’s community or be specifically invited. DiW estimates about a ten-week production lead time after ordering. With only five examples ever planned, this watch is effectively a highly exclusive collector’s item.
Comparison with Original and Other Custom Editions
Compared to the original stainless-steel Nautilus 5711, the DiW All-Carbon version is much lighter and visually distinct while sharing the same essential dimensions. The classic Nautilus is known for its polished steel case surfaces and signature bright blue (or black) dial. The DiW variant swaps all of that for matte black carbon fiber and DLC-coated metal, giving it a stealthier, more technical appearance. On the wrist, it feels almost weightless compared to the heavy steel original, yet its iconic Nautilus shape and bracelet design make it immediately recognizable.
In relation to other custom Nautilus editions by DiW, the All-Carbon is one of the most radical. DiW has produced versions that incorporate various accents – for example, a “G-Blue” edition with a subtle blue-to-black gradient dial, or a model with diamond-set hour markers for added sparkle. Those versions still display lighter colors or shine. By contrast, the All-Carbon “Black Grail” avoids any contrast entirely: it is uniformly dark from bezel to dial. This extreme monochrome approach makes it stand out as DiW’s boldest, most modern take on the Nautilus, emphasizing material innovation over traditional styling.
